Position Summary

As the Production Supervisor, you will keep the Kindred production floor running on schedule. You will act as the floor's project lead, checking in with each production sub department to understand where work stands, what is limiting progress, and what it will take to stay on plan. You will report status, risks, and recovery plans to the Production Programs Manager, and you will partner closely with People Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to remove obstacles and support the team. This role also carries a significant people responsibility, and handling sensitive employee matters with complete confidentiality is central to success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervise daily operations and team coordination for the Production team at Kindred
• Work closely with the Production Programs Manager and team Leads to ensure proper staffing and positioning based on individual skills, strengths and weaknesses
• Work with the Production Programs Manager to understand progress, risks, and limiters and adjust staffing and/or priorities to ensure that we are consistently delivering high-quality vehicles on schedule
• Determine when overtime is needed and develop recovery plans to bring production back on schedule
• Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve parts shortages, technical issues, and quality concerns that affect the schedule
• Support a safe work environment by ensuring safety training is current, reporting EHS incidents, and correcting hazards on the floor

Partner with People Operations on the following :

• Timecard review and approval
• Progressive discipline and the attendance points system
• Hiring and terminations
• Workers' compensation claims, including incident reporting and return to work coordination
• Workplace investigations
• Handle all personnel matters and employee information with strict confidentiality and sound judgment

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 2 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, including time as a Lead, Supervisor, or in a similar role coordinating the daily work of a team. Management experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple priorities, departments, and deadlines at once
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive personnel matters with discretion and strict confidentiality, while following through on documentation and accountability
• Strategic thinker who can see how daily limiters affect the overall schedule and plan ahead to keep work on track
• Comfortable making timely, sound decisions about schedule recovery and overtime
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in person with team members, peers, and leadership
• Ability to build effective working relationships across departments
• Fluency with common MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to support OT and weekend work if needed

Desired Skills

• Experience administering timekeeping, attendance points, or progressive discipline programs
• Project coordination or production scheduling experience
• Experience participating in workplace investigations or workers' compensation processes
• Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience
• Automotive or vehicle manufacturing experience

Walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Clean and well organized unconditioned shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times requires ear plugs, use of eye protection, and/or occasional use of a respirator.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in accordance with safety regulations.

Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, while also moving throughout the production floor as needed.
