Position Description

The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and directing the daily operations of the production department. This position is responsible for managing department supervisors, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with established procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Directs the efforts of department supervisors as they manage day-to-day production activities.
• Sets daily, weekly, and monthly production goals; measures progress and reviews results with management regularly.
• Recommends equipment purchases to improve operations — for example, reducing costs, improving quality, and reducing lead times.
• Collaborates on the hiring, training, and termination of employees.
• Develops and maintains cost and capacity models.
• Oversees the production scheduling process.
• Assesses the effectiveness of the group's information and planning systems, as well as the quality assurance systems.
• Ensures that operations remain compliant with SOPs and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Additional Responsibilities

• Supports and is involved in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma required. Associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of experience in industry-related manufacturing activities.

Competencies / Skill Qualifications

• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations such as adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying, and to calculate percentages and yield.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
• Must obtain and maintain a current food handler's permit.
• English proficiency required.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and converse and listen.
• Employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to move objects.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
