Production Support Engineer

About the role

You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation. The Data and Finance Application Support team is within the Business Technology Services function, supporting the Bank's suite of Finance and Data warehouse Application system. The team is responsible for the production stability of Data and Finance applications and ensuring on going improvements in system availability, supportability & service levels over time. You will be working with Business, Operations, Support and Development teams to ensure a high-quality service & swift resolution of issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide application support to various business users and attend to business queries and requests promptly, following through to proper closure
• Work on timely resolution for reported incidents to meet service level targets, including failures and queries reported by business users and technical staff, and event alerts automatically detected by monitoring tools
• Perform root cause analysis to identify permanent solutions to prevent recurring incidents and minimize impact
• Ensure all incidents and problems are proactively managed by prioritizing issues of varying severity and escalating as appropriate
• Collaborate with the development team in identifying resolutions and transitioning releases into production environment
• Adopt standard Incident and Problem Management workflow and processes, including timely ticket and defect logging and proper change management
• Participate in DR/BCM activities and infrastructure-related upgrades
• Monitor and analyse current performance and capacity data and forecast capacity required by applications
• Undertake management reporting and other centrally driven project initiatives as needed

About you

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in application development and support environment in Banking Finance
• Finance knowledge for GL, MAS, GST, Regulatory and Reporting/business intelligence
• Working experience in Unix/Windows platforms, batch scheduling tools, and database query skills
• Technical skills: Oracle / MS SQL, Unix/Linux, Control-M, Shell scripting, SAP GL, Ray, BASEL, Moody's Risk Authority knowledge
• Knowledge of Finance, Risk, Accounting, ITIL or similar framework
• Experience working in an ITIL-driven environment with proven incident and problem management
• English: C1 Advanced
