Overview

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Production Support Engineer to provide monitoring, incident management and technical support for business-critical applications supporting the US region.

The role focuses on maintaining application availability, rapidly identifying and resolving production incidents, minimising downtime and ensuring agreed SLAs are consistently achieved.

You'll work across Oracle databases, SQL, Linux, Splunk, GitHub and Jenkins , combining proactive monitoring with hands-on troubleshooting and incident resolution.

💥 What you'll own

• Provide production support and monitoring for business-critical applications.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents to minimise application downtime and maintain SLAs.
• Perform proactive monitoring and log analysis using Splunk and related monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot application, server and database-related issues.
• Write and execute SQL DDL and DML queries against Oracle databases.
• Work with joins, aggregate functions, CASE statements and other SQL concepts when investigating data and application issues.
• Analyse Linux server logs to identify and diagnose production problems.
• Use GitHub to review and debug application code.
• Support application deployments using Jenkins .
• Configure and optimise monitoring alerts and dashboards.
• Support the setup of tools and required infrastructure.
• Follow established ITIL processes across Incident, Problem and Request for Change (RFC) management.
• Perform root-cause investigation and contribute to the prevention of recurring incidents.
• Maintain accurate incident, troubleshooting and resolution documentation.

💥 What you'll bring

• 3–8 years of relevant production/application support experience .
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database .
• Strong hands-on SQL skills, including:
• DDL and DML
• Joins
• Aggregate functions
• CASE statements
• Experience supporting applications running on Linux-based infrastructure .
• Strong server log monitoring and debugging skills.
• Experience with Splunk for monitoring, log analysis and incident investigation.
• Experience creating and optimising monitoring alerts and dashboards .
• Experience with GitHub for code review/debugging.
• Experience using Jenkins for application deployments.
• Understanding of cloud services and infrastructure .
• Practical knowledge of ITIL processes , particularly Incident, Problem and Change/RFC management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a production-support mindset.

🟢 Nice-to-have

• Experience with Dynatrace or comparable application monitoring/observability tools.
• Experience supporting applications operating against strict availability and SLA requirements.
• Experience troubleshooting across application, database and infrastructure layers.
• Previous experience supporting applications used across the US region .
