Production Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Production Technician to join our team at DF AUTOMATION & ROBOTICS SDN. BHD. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring that assembly and process work is completed efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automation and robotics manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of automation systems, machines and equipment according to technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Assemble and install machine components, modules, sensors, cables and other parts accurately and safely.
• Prepare materials, tools and components required for assembly and ensure the work area is properly organised before commencing work.
• Use basic hand tools, power tools and assembly equipment safely and correctly.
• Conduct basic inspection and functional checks to ensure assembled components meet quality and operational requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and rectification of assembly issues under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers.
• Record assembly progress, inspection results and relevant production information accurately.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians and other team members to identify and resolve assembly or technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Report any damaged components, assembly issues, equipment malfunctions or quality deviations to the relevant supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to improve assembly processes, quality and efficiency.
• Training and on-the-job guidance will be provided to develop the required technical, assembly and equipment-handling skills.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, machine assembly, manufacturing or a related technical environment is an advantage.
• Basic ability to read and understand technical drawings, assembly drawings and work instructions.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment for assembly work.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow assembly procedures and instructions accurately.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn basic troubleshooting and equipment assembly techniques.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform hands-on assembly work, including standing for extended periods and handling components or equipment of moderate weight.
• Responsible, reliable and committed to maintaining good workmanship, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Technical qualifications or certificates in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or a related field are an advantage.
• Training and on-the-job guidance will be provided, making this role suitable for candidates who are willing to develop their skills in industrial automation and robotics.
• Experience in industrial automation, robotics or machine building is an advantage but not essential.
