Production/Tooling Design Engineering Intern

Job Summary

Bourgault is looking for a motivated engineering student with a passion for agriculture to join our Production Engineering team! You will be responsible for assisting with planning and implementation of process improvements and lean project initiatives to increase production efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects aimed at improving process flow while optimizing space, quality, safety, and ergonomics
• Develop, maintain, and support a continuous improvement culture using lean tools, focusing on the elimination of waste while striving to provide increased value to our customers, both internal and external
• Gauge production performance, identify bottlenecks and suggest/implement changes as required
• Develop and document standard work, including work methods and cell layouts
• Design processes or tooling to improve safety, quality, productivity or cost issues
• Conduct time studies to develop base times or evaluate different processes

Required Skills/Experience

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering program (mechanical/industrial focus is preferred)
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft office and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• High degree of analytical thought and creativity
• Effective trouble-shooting & problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
• Experience in the manufacturing industry would be an asset
• Willing to (temporarily) relocate to St. Brieux, SK.
