THE OPPORTUNITY
Turn Workforce Data into Meaningful Business Insights
Productivity is more than the number of hours recorded.
At AECO Energy, we use data, technology, and disciplined analysis to understand how workforce activity aligns with business requirements, operational standards, and expected outcomes. We are looking for a Productivity Analysis Associate who is analytical, highly observant, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with sensitive workforce information.
In this role, you will analyze data generated by our productivity and time-monitoring systems to identify trends, anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential areas of concern. You will transform large volumes of activity data into clear, factual reports that help management understand workforce productivity, strengthen controls, and make informed decisions.
This is not a traditional timekeeping or attendance role.
You will go beyond reviewing hours logged. You will examine activity metrics, application and website usage, screenshots, screencasts, activity summaries, and other available system information to determine whether recorded activity is reasonably aligned with assigned work and established company requirements.
Your work will sit at the intersection of data analysis, workforce productivity, internal controls, technology, and operational governance.
If you enjoy investigating patterns, questioning inconsistencies, working with data, and presenting objective findings even when the findings may require difficult conversations - this could be the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Analyze Workforce Productivity Data
- Review data generated by time-monitoring, productivity, and workforce-management systems.
- Analyze logged hours, activity levels, application and website usage, activity summaries, and other relevant productivity indicators.
- Identify trends, anomalies, inconsistencies, and unusual activity patterns.
- Compare available activity data against assigned work, expected schedules, team requirements, and applicable company policies.
- Distinguish between recorded time and observable work-related activity using objective evidence.
- Identify recurring patterns that may indicate process, productivity, compliance, or data-integrity concerns.
Review Digital Activity and Supporting Evidence
- Review desktop screenshots and screencasts as part of productivity and activity assessments.
- Examine application and website activity to identify unusual or unexplained patterns.
- Investigate irregular activity spikes, prolonged inactivity, unexpected application usage, automated activity, or gaps in expected work-related activity.
- Assess information in context rather than relying on individual data points.
- Document relevant observations and supporting evidence clearly and accurately.
- Maintain professional judgment when interpreting activity records and avoid conclusions that are not supported by available evidence.
Prepare Management Reports and Insights
- Prepare weekly and monthly productivity reports for management review.
- Compile and analyze Activity Summary Reports.
- Prepare concise Executive Summaries for the Internal Audit Manager.
- Highlight significant trends, recurring observations, productivity indicators, compliance results, and potential operational vulnerabilities.
- Convert complex datasets and large volumes of system information into clear, structured, management-ready reports.
- Provide factual observations that enable Managers and Team Leaders to understand issues and determine appropriate actions.
Investigate and Escalate Material Concerns
- Conduct targeted reviews when unusual activity, material discrepancies, or potential compliance concerns are identified.
- Validate information before reporting significant findings.
- Ensure every observation is supported by documented facts and reliable system data.
- Prepare appropriate reports for the relevant Manager or Team Leader.
- Escalate significant, recurring, or unresolved matters through established internal reporting channels.
- Maintain professional independence throughout the review and reporting process.
Monitor Corrective Actions
- Maintain an accurate register of productivity observations, reports, and follow-up actions.
- Track management responses and agreed corrective measures.
- Follow up with responsible Managers and Team Leaders on outstanding matters.
- Monitor the status and completion of corrective actions.
- Maintain complete records of observations, responses, actions taken, and resolution status.
- Assess whether identified issues have been appropriately addressed and whether expected compliance has been restored.
Protect Data Quality and Confidentiality
- Maintain the accuracy, integrity, completeness, and reliability of productivity-related data.
- Follow established internal audit procedures, data privacy requirements, and information-security controls.
- Handle sensitive workforce and performance information with a high degree of discretion.
- Ensure analysis and reporting remain factual, consistent, impartial, and evidence-based.
- Protect confidential information from unauthorized disclosure or access.
- Identify potential weaknesses in data quality, monitoring processes, and reporting controls and recommend improvements where appropriate.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Information Management, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in data analysis, reporting, internal audit, workforce management, administration, operations, timekeeping, attendance, payroll, or a similar analytical function.
- Strong analytical and investigative capability with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, structured datasets, and recurring reports.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including sorting, filtering, data organization, formulas, functions, and basic data analysis.
- Experience with productivity-monitoring or workforce-management platforms such as Time Doctor, Hubstaff, Upwork Tracker, Toggl, or similar systems is highly advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into concise, factual, and easy-to-understand reports.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, Team Leaders, Managers, and senior leadership.
- Strong judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
We also welcome candidates from traditional HR, payroll, timekeeping, attendance, or workforce-management backgrounds who can demonstrate strong analytical and investigative capabilities.
What Makes This Exceptional
Your Analysis Will Influence Decisions
Your work will provide management with reliable information to support productivity reviews, compliance monitoring, corrective actions, operational improvements, and stronger internal controls.
You'll Work Beyond Routine Reporting
You will analyze relationships between time, activity, digital behavior, work requirements, and operational expectations rather than simply processing timesheets or attendance records.
You'll Build Valuable Analytical Expertise
This role provides hands-on exposure to workforce analytics, digital productivity systems, internal controls, data investigation, reporting, and operational governance.
You'll Work with Modern Workforce Technology
You will work extensively with digital workforce-management systems, activity dashboards, spreadsheets, reporting tools, screenshots, screencasts, and other technology-enabled sources of workforce information.
Integrity Is Fundamental
Some findings may be sensitive or difficult to communicate. You will be expected to remain factual, fair, confidential, and professionally independent at all times.
LIFE AT AECO ENERGY

You will be trusted to question inconsistencies, validate information, document your findings, and communicate observations professionally.
Your work will contribute to building a culture where accountability, data integrity, operational discipline, and continuous improvement are part of how AECO operates.

Your analysis can help management identify trends, understand operational risks, strengthen compliance, and make better decisions based on reliable information.
THE PITCH
You are probably a strong fit if you enjoy looking at a large dataset and asking: What is happening? Is the data reliable? What patterns should management know about? What requires further investigation? What evidence supports the observation? and What action should happen next?
You are not looking for a role where you simply process timesheets, compile routine reports, or follow a checklist. You want to investigate, analyze, identify patterns, solve problems, and turn information into meaningful insights. You understand that hours logged do not automatically equal productivity. You know that data must be interpreted in context, inconsistencies must be investigated, and conclusions must be supported by evidence.
If that sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
Remote / Hybrid Work Requirements
As part of the company's remote/hybrid working arrangement, the successful candidate must maintain a suitable home-office environment that supports secure, reliable, and confidential work.
You must have:
- A personally owned computer under the company's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) arrangement.
- Minimum Intel Core i5 processor or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 GB RAM.
- Stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps.
- A suitable and secure workspace that allows confidential company and workforce information to be accessed without unauthorized viewing or disclosure.
