Responsibilities

• Perform professional braiding services including intricate styles such as box braids, cornrows, twists, and protective styles tailored to each client’s preferences
• Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable hair care products or extensions
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly cleaning tools and workstations after each client
• Use salon software and management systems like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, record client information, and process transactions
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about styling options, aftercare, and product recommendations
• Assist with retail sales through upselling hair care products, extensions, and styling tools to enhance client satisfaction
• Stay current on industry trends, color theory, hair coloring techniques, and new styling methods to continually improve your craft

Requirements

• Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on braiding, hair styling, or barbering
• Knowledge of salon software platforms such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Expertise in hair care practices including sanitation standards, hair extensions application, hair coloring, and hair threading
• Ability to perform detailed braiding styles using various techniques such as straight razor trimming or other barbering tools when needed
• Familiarity with retail math principles for upselling products confidently and accurately
• Certification in cosmetology or barbering preferred; additional skills in makeup application or nail care are a plus
