Professional Cake Decorator

Tipsy Scoop Astoria is looking for a talented, outgoing, and experienced Cake Decorator to lead our Boozy Cake Decorating Classes. We are looking for someone who can make guests leave saying, "That was so much fun — we have to do this again!"

Our classes are designed to be a fun, social experience where guests enjoy Tipsy Scoop's liquor-infused ice cream while learning how to decorate their own cakes.

We're looking for someone who isn't only talented at cake decorating, but also has the personality and confidence to teach, entertain, engage with guests, and create an amazing class experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Boozy Cake Decorating Classes at our Astoria location
• Demonstrate cake decorating techniques step-by-step
• Teach guests of different experience levels in an approachable and entertaining way
• Demonstrate frosting, piping, decorating, lettering, and other techniques
• Keep classes organized, interactive, upbeat, and on schedule
• Answer questions and assist guests individually when needed
• Prepare decorating stations, tools, cakes, frosting, and supplies before each class
• Help with setup and cleanup
• Work with management to create new class themes and seasonal designs
• Create a welcoming environment for birthdays, date nights, friend groups, corporate events, and private parties
• Represent the Tipsy Scoop brand professionally

You may be a great fit if you:

• Have professional cake decorating experience
• Have strong piping and buttercream decorating skills
• Are comfortable demonstrating your skills in front of a group
• Have an outgoing, friendly, and engaging personality
• Can clearly explain decorating techniques to beginners
• Are patient and enjoy helping others
• Are comfortable leading groups and keeping the energy up
• Are dependable and punctual
• Can work independently
• Are available for scheduled evening and/or weekend classes

Previous teaching experience is NEEDED

We're more interested in finding someone who combines great cake decorating skills with a great personality.

Portfolio Required

Applicants must provide examples of previous cake decorating work.

Schedule

This is an event-based position based on our class calendar and private event bookings.

Classes may be scheduled on evenings and weekends.

There may also be opportunities to lead private parties, corporate events, birthdays, and additional Tipsy Scoop experiences.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 12.0 per week
