Professional, Costing Analyst

Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for maintaining costing databases, reporting platforms, and associated tools to ensure data integrity, improve data transparency, and enhance operational efficiency.

The position manages apparel development costing activities by evaluating construction alternatives, assessing cost impacts, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and partnering directly with vendors to review and challenge costing assumptions in support of competitive and sustainable costing outcomes. Through costing analytics, forecasting, supplier benchmarking, cost competitiveness studies, and profitability analysis, the role provides actionable insights to support product costing decisions, vendor negotiations, and sourcing strategies.

The position also supports seasonal costing activities and cross-functional initiatives by delivering data-driven recommendations that contribute to the company's short-term objectives and long-term profitability goals.

Your Impact

1/ Apparel/Accessory Costing Analytics for Costing

• Support to define the seasonal product cost negotiation strategy to optimize the profitability thru running standard and ad hoc data analysis to drive the negotiation with Apparel T1 suppliers
• Applies advanced knowledge thru data analysis to project and forecast of product costing & saving improvement process
• Support the seasonal costing activities including product ranking and cost competitiveness input to leadership with insights on cost driver developments and supplier competitiveness using systematic costing analytics, to support for costing strategy to set for short term and long term goal.
• Create & disseminate research of different & various costing structure, components, internal & external factors & drivers at model level, mix, sourcing, pricings & other decisions impact overall profitability.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and costing projects by providing analytical insights, costing expertise, and recommendations to support business objectives and continuous improvement efforts.

2/ Apparel Development Costing

• Manage apparel development costing activities for new styles, applying advanced product costing knowledge to evaluate construction, manufacturing methods, and design alternatives, while providing feasible solutions and cost impact assessments to support product development decisions.
• Conduct cost studies and cost driver analyses to ensure costing consistency across factories, products, and seasons. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend sustainable cost optimization initiatives throughout the development process.
• Review and challenge factory cost sheets independently through direct communication with vendors, conducting detailed analysis of labor, material consumption, manufacturing processes, efficiencies, and operational assumptions to improve cost transparency, drive fact-based cost discussions, and achieve competitive and sustainable costing outcomes.
• Partner with Sourcing Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to support seasonal development timelines, influence product decisions, and drive commercially viable products that balance design intent, manufacturability, quality, and cost objectives.

3/Reporting & Tools

• Develop and maintain costing tools, reports, and analytical models by defining business requirements, costing logic, and algorithms to improve costing transparency, enable cost benchmarking, support sourcing strategies, and enhance team productivity.
• Create and maintain costing databases, data cubes, seasonal master data, costing score and pre-costing tools, ensuring data integrity, system accuracy, and timely updates to support product development costing, benchmarking, and decision-making processes.
• Monitor market intelligence and macroeconomic factors including labor rates, exchange rates, freight, and material cost trends; conduct impact assessments for seasonal cost matrix development, generate standard and ad hoc reports, and document costing processes, SOPs, and calendar milestones to ensure consistent execution and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree
• 3+ years’ of progressive work experience in costing analytical position in apparel/ textile industry.
