Professional Dog Walker (Pack Leader) - Long-Term Opportunity

Waggy Walks Ottawa is looking for a dependable, dog-savvy individual to join our growing team.

This is a well paid independent contractor opportunity for someone looking for consistent weekday work, independence, and the opportunity to grow with an established and expanding dog walking company.

We are especially interested in applicants seeking long-term, year-round work rather than a temporary summer position.

About the role:

You’ll be responsible for safely transporting and supervising a group of dogs during structured off-leash outings at a fully enclosed private dog park. This role combines dog handling, customer service, independence, and daily outdoor activity.

Our clients trust us with their dogs because we provide a safe, reliable, and professional experience — and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing the same.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Approximately 8:00am – 11:00am (can be flexible to fit your needs)
• Consistent weekday schedule already established

Compensation:

• Approximately $33–$43/hour
• Paid per dog
• Opportunity to increase earnings as client load grows
• Opportunity to increase hours to desired workload
• Optional additional opportunities (such as dog sitting)

Responsibilities:

• Pick up dogs starting in the Glebe or Centretown area
• Transport dogs safely to a private enclosed dog park in Metcalfe
• Supervise structured off-leash group outings
• Return dogs home clean, safe, and happy
• Maintain strong communication with clients
• Capture weekly videos for client updates
• Help maintain a calm, positive, and well-managed group environment

Requirements:

• Reliable SUV, van, or large hatchback capable of transporting 5–7 dogs
• Comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to provide a clean background check
• Willingness to complete Pet First Aid certification
