  • Configure tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, Splunk, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, or equivalent platforms.
  • Create dashboards, service-health views, alerts, thresholds, anomaly detection, and operational reporting that improve proactive issue identification and service visibility.
  • Support enterprise job scheduling and workload automation using BMC Control-M, AutoSys, Tidal, or comparable scheduling platforms, including dependencies, calendars, retries, and failure recovery.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, and service-management teams during incidents and root cause analysis, using telemetry to isolate performance and availability issues.
  • Improve alert quality by reducing noise, tuning thresholds, correlating events, defining ownership, and aligning monitors to service-level objectives.
  • Instrument applications and platforms using OpenTelemetry agents/SDKs, log forwarding, APM agents, cloud-native monitoring, or integration APIs where appropriate.
  • Automate monitoring and scheduling tasks using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or platform APIs to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain monitoring standards, runbooks, service metrics, documentation, and continuous-improvement actions aligned with ITSM and regulatory expectations.

Skills Required:

  • 4-7 years of experience supporting observability, monitoring, application performance management, logging, or enterprise job scheduling in technology-services environments.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise observability/APM tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, New Relic, or equivalent.
  • Experience with log analytics and dashboards using Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, or comparable platforms.
  • Working knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, alerting, OpenTelemetry concepts, service health, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience administering enterprise scheduling/workload automation tools such as Control-M, AutoSys, Tidal, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to monitoring cloud and container platforms such as Azure/AWS and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Basic scripting/automation capability using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or APIs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and ownership skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SRE practices, SLI/SLO design, synthetic monitoring, event correlation, AIOps, or ServiceNow Event Management.
  • Experience supporting observability in regulated, highly available, or global enterprise environments.
  • Relevant cloud, monitoring/APM, ITIL, or workload-automation certifications preferred.
