Professional Speaker Booking Agent — Prior Bureau Experience Required
Company: Culture of Belonging Global®Speaker: Curtis Ray HillLocation: Remote — United StatesEmployment Type: ContractCompensation: Performance-Based
About the Role
Culture of Belonging Global® is seeking an experienced Professional Speaker Booking Agent to help grow the speaking calendar of keynote speaker Curtis Ray Hill.
Previous professional speaker booking experience is required.
We are specifically looking for someone who has worked for a speakers bureau, speaker agency, lecture agency, talent agency representing keynote speakers, or directly in professional speaker booking.
This is not an entry-level sales role and it is not a general marketing position.
We want someone who already understands how professional speakers are booked, how keynote buyers make decisions, how speaker bureau relationships work, and how opportunities move from initial outreach to signed engagement.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to help turn qualified opportunities into paid speaking engagements.
You will:
- Identify and contact the actual decision-makers responsible for hiring keynote speakers.
- Conduct professional outbound outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels.
- Work researched lists of corporations, associations, conferences, school districts, universities, and speaker bureaus.
- Follow up consistently and professionally with prospects.
- Qualify opportunities based on event fit, audience, budget, timing, and decision-making process.
- Submit speaker materials and proposals.
- Track calls for speakers, RFPs, proposal deadlines, and conference planning cycles.
- Build and strengthen relationships with speaker bureaus and speaker agencies.
- Introduce Curtis to additional bureaus and booking partners.
- Manage speaking opportunities through the booking process.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, notes, and next steps.
- Help move qualified opportunities from initial interest to signed agreement.
Required Experience
Applicants must have previous experience in professional speaker booking, speaker representation, or speaker bureau sales.
Relevant backgrounds include:
- Speaker Booking Agent
- Speaker Agent
- Bureau Agent
- Speakers Bureau Account Executive
- Speaker Sales Representative
- Bureau Relations
- Lecture Agent
- Talent Agent representing professional speakers
- Professional Speaker Sales or Booking
Preference will be given to candidates who have personally booked professional keynote speakers and understand the full booking cycle.
Ideal Candidate
You should understand:
- Professional speaker fees and fee conversations
- Speaker bureau relationships
- Meeting planner relationships
- Corporate event buyers
- Association and conference buying cycles
- Education conference and district buying cycles
- Speaker proposals and contracts
- Long-term follow-up
- CRM pipeline management
- Keynote positioning
- Turning inquiries and outreach into bookings
Existing relationships with speaker bureaus, meeting planners, associations, conference organizers, corporate event teams, HR leaders, learning and development leaders, or education decision-makers are highly valued.
What We Provide
You will receive:
- Researched speaking opportunities
- Target account lists
- Existing leads and prospects
- Speaker marketing materials
- Professional speaker website and landing pages
- Speaker one-sheet
- Keynote descriptions
- Demo videos and speaking footage
- Testimonials and client proof
- Proposal materials
- Email messaging and outreach support
- CRM infrastructure
- Access to Curtis for qualified sales conversations when appropriate
You are not being hired simply to build lists.
Your value is in knowing how to take a real opportunity, reach the correct buyer, build the relationship, follow the opportunity, and help turn it into a booking.
Compensation
This is a performance-based contract position.
Compensation is directly connected to successfully generated speaking business and booked engagements.
The specific compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process and may vary based on the candidate’s professional speaker booking experience, industry relationships, and demonstrated track record.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are confident in a compensation model that rewards results and booked speaking revenue rather than activity alone.
How Success Will Be Measured
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Qualified buyer conversations
- Speaking opportunities developed
- Proposals submitted
- Speaker bureau relationships established
- Speaking engagements booked
- Speaking revenue generated
Please Do Not Apply If
Your primary experience is in:
- Social media management
- General marketing
- Generic appointment setting
- Retail sales
- Entry-level SDR work
- Event coordination without responsibility for booking professional speakers
We are specifically seeking someone who has already worked in the professional speaking or speaker bureau industry and understands how to get speakers booked.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
