Professional Tailor – Dry Cleaning Store

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Professional Tailor to join our dry cleaning store team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert clothing alterations, garment repairs, and custom tailoring services to ensure our customers leave satisfied with perfectly fitted and finished garments. Your expertise in fabric materials, sewing techniques, and garment construction will help us deliver high-quality results that meet our customers’ expectations. Responsibilities

• Perform clothing alterations such as hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments with precision and attention to detail
• Conduct garment repairs including patching, replacing zippers, mending tears, and restoring worn fabrics
• Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to achieve flawless finishes on various clothing items
• Operate pressing machines and other equipment to press and finish garments for presentation and delivery
• Assist customers by providing expert advice on fabric materials, garment care, and tailoring options to ensure satisfaction
• Collaborate with team members to produce custom apparel for men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and other fashion retail needs
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety standards related to press operation and sewing equipment

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fashion retail or clothing alterations with a strong understanding of garment construction and stitching techniques
• Skilled in using sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools for detailed garment work
• Knowledge of fabric materials including different textiles used in men's wear, women's wear, and custom apparel production
• Ability to perform precise measurements using basic math skills for accurate fittings and alterations
• Familiarity with garment sewing, stitching, fabric handling, and press operation is essential
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about tailoring options and garment care
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a passion for craftsmanship in clothing tailoring
