The Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track position to begin in the Fall of 2027 whose research program will support the Strengthening Families Research Initiative. We especially welcome applications from candidates at the ranks of Associate or Full Professor.
Qualifications Candidates should have a record of research excellence with a strong emphasis on issues related to the economics of families, fertility, child well-being, and/or social policy. The ideal candidate will also have a track record of superlative teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a capacity to support and shape a university program. Duties include research, teaching, and service. A PhD in Economics or a closely related field is required.
Application Instructions Review of applications will commence immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Questions may be directed to Christopher Cronin ([email protected]).

Background Check This appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Applicants will be asked to identify all felony convictions and/or pending felony charges. Felony convictions do not automatically bar an individual from employment. Each case will be examined separately to determine the appropriateness of employment in the particular position. Failure to be forthcoming or dishonesty with respect to felony disclosures can result in the disqualification of a candidate.
