The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Virginia developmental disability services, DBHDS and DMAS requirements, DD Waiver programs, person-centered planning, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete initial assessments, reassessments, and other required evaluations.
  • Facilitate Individualized Service Plan meetings, team meetings, and other service-related meetings.
  • Develop and review ISPs, service justifications, service revisions, supporting documentation, and other required program records.

  • Collaborate with agency leadership regarding service delivery, staffing, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, incident prevention, and risk management.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, orient, and support new employees.
  • Ensure employees receive required training and understand individual-specific support plans, protocols, and agency expectations.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and monitor performance improvement plans when applicable.
  • Complete and oversee billing-related and service-authorization functions for DD Waiver, private insurance, private-pay, and other agency services.
  • Monitor service authorizations, renewals, revisions, and documentation deadlines.
  • Assist with internal audits, quality reviews, corrective actions, and preparation for regulatory or payer reviews.
  • Participate in individual visits and monitor the quality and effectiveness of services being provided.
  • Maintain communication with families, support coordinators, employees, and other members of individuals’ support teams.
  • Assist leadership with developing and implementing agency policies, procedures, programs, and operational initiatives.
  • Support the development and expansion of agency programs and services.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, confidential, and compliant records.
  • Perform other programmatic, operational, and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, therapeutic recreation, sociology, counseling, education, rehabilitation, or another qualifying human services field.
