The Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead complex, multi-workstream initiatives for enterprise clients.
This role is responsible for translating strategic objectives into clear, executable plans and ensuring that interconnected projects come together to deliver measurable business and customer outcomes. The Program Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks and dependencies, establish program governance, and communicate effectively with both delivery teams and executive stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong program leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry, thrives in ambiguity, and knows how to create alignment across multiple teams without relying on direct authority.
What You’ll Do
Program Strategy and Planning
- Define and maintain the overall program structure, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap.
- Translate business objectives into clear program goals, success measures, and actionable plans.
- Prioritize and sequence workstreams based on strategic impact, dependencies, timelines, and available resources.
- Connect day-to-day execution with broader customer and business objectives.
Cross-Functional Program Leadership
- Coordinate multiple interconnected workstreams, which may include strategic consulting, technology implementation, content development, system integrations, AI-enabled solutions, and change management.
- Align internal teams and external stakeholders around program priorities, timelines, responsibilities, and expected outcomes.
- Manage dependencies across teams and projects to prevent delivery conflicts and siloed decision-making.
- Influence stakeholders and drive accountability without direct authority.
Governance, Risk, and Decision-Making
- Establish consistent program governance, including reporting standards, processes, escalation paths, and decision-making frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate risks that could affect program scope, timing, budget, quality, or strategic alignment.
- Maintain program-level risk registers, dependency maps, and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate steering committees, working sessions, and cross-functional forums.
- Proactively remove blockers and escalate critical issues when appropriate.
Stakeholder and Executive Communication
- Provide clear program-level reporting on progress, risks, decisions, dependencies, and value realization.
- Tailor communication for different audiences, from tactical delivery teams to senior executives.
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders across functions.
- Guide difficult conversations, resolve competing priorities, and create alignment in complex environments.
Value Realization and Continuous Improvement
- Connect program outcomes to measurable customer and business value, including adoption, operational efficiency, performance improvement, and revenue impact.
- Define and monitor success metrics throughout and following program delivery.
- Continuously improve program processes, tools, templates, and ways of working based on lessons learned.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in program or project management, including at least 3 years managing complex, multi-project programs.
- Direct pharmaceutical industry experience, including program or project leadership supporting pharma commercial teams, sales enablement, learning initiatives, or related enterprise programs.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives such as enterprise transformations, technology implementations, platform launches, or large-scale client programs.
- Experience working in a SaaS, technology, consulting, learning, or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of program management methodologies, including PMI, Agile, SAFe, or hybrid approaches.
- Experience with program and project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
- Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining closely connected to execution details.
- Comfort making thoughtful recommendations and decisions with incomplete information.
- U.S.-based, with candidates located in the Eastern time zone strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with learning and development, sales enablement, HR technology, learning management systems, content platforms, or AI-enabled solutions.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or comparable certification.
- Background in change management, process improvement, or organizational design.
- Experience working in a growing organization where priorities evolve and individual impact is highly visible.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
You will thrive in this position if you can bring structure to ambiguity, see connections across complex workstreams, and turn broad strategic goals into practical plans. You are a collaborative and decisive leader who removes barriers, empowers teams, communicates candidly, and uses data to guide decisions—not simply report status.
