What they need
Job Overview
The Program Manager owns the forward-looking view of the product and development roadmap, coordinating schedules and priorities across Development and Product Operations so that risks and dependencies surface early, leadership stays informed, and the Director of Product can focus on product direction and priorities. This role is responsible for planning across the next several weeks and months, distinct from the day-to-day management of the current sprint and release, which sits with the Product Operations Manager. The Program Manager also serves as the primary point of contact between Product/Development and the rest of the organization, including CX, Account Managers, Crim, Marketing, and Leadership, understanding what each department needs, keeping them updated on the status of their own requests, and keeping every department aligned on active projects.
Duties
- Serves as the primary communication link between Product/Development and every other department (CX, Account Managers, Crim, Marketing, and Leadership); understands what each department needs and keeps them updated on the status of their dev requests
- Owns the overall cross-team schedule and roadmap spanning Development and Product Operations
- Runs regular planning meetings so Development and Product Operations stay aligned on what is coming over the next several weeks and months
- Tracks progress on active projects and initiatives, keeps them on schedule, and proactively notifies the right people of delays or scope changes as soon as they're known
- Presents progress and goals clearly to leadership and other departments, tailoring the level of detail to the audience
- When a task, decision, or project has no clear owner, identifies who that person should be and tasks them directly with the work
- Identifies risks and dependencies across teams early and escalates them before they threaten a release or milestone
- Maintains a running risk/issue log across active initiatives and drives open items to resolution
- Maintains regular visibility into development progress through check-ins with the Lead Developer; technical risks and blockers continue to be escalated by the Lead Developer directly to the Director of Product
- Provides regular status updates to the Director of Product and company leadership on the health of active initiatives and timelines
- Receives product priorities and requirements from the Director of Product at the start of each planning cycle and translates them into a sequenced, resourced roadmap
- Partners with the Product Operations Manager to resolve schedule and capacity conflicts, escalating to the Director of Product when needed
- Maintains a rolling roadmap and schedule shared with the Director of Product and team leads
- Keeps the shared project-tracking system (e.g., Monday.com, Jira) current and accurate, so status is visible to everyone without anyone having to ask
- Supports leadership and board-level reporting on timeline health and initiative status
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, and stakeholder communication skills
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional planning or program management, ideally within a product or software organization
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams, priorities, and timelines simultaneously
- Strong skills identifying risks and dependencies before they impact delivery
- Experience managing an external partner or vendor relationship with shared deliverables
- Strong organizational, planning, and facilitation skills
- Ability to communicate project and timeline status clearly to executive and cross-functional audiences
- Experience with project and product management systems such as Jira and Monday.com is preferred
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities
- Preferred Mac literacy and G-Suite proficiency
- Positive attitude with a self-driven sense of urgency, ownership, and service
