Program Manager

KPMG Talent (P5+) Limited is assisting a client with the recruitment of a Programme Manager. Our client is a leading financial institution committed to delivering strategic initiatives that support business growth, operational excellence, and customer value. To support the successful delivery of its strategic objectives, the organisation is seeking to recruit a Programme Manager to oversee strategic programmes comprising multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and the successful delivery of business benefits.

Role Purpose:

The Programme Manager is responsible for managing strategic transformation programmes that support the Bank's objectives and deliver defined business benefits. The role involves providing leadership across multiple projects, stakeholders, and teams, ensuring programme outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities of the Programme Manager:

• Managing portfolios of projects within a programme, defining project priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business benefits.
• Leading programmes from initiation through to completion, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables, while ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Engaging with stakeholders, managing expectations, and providing regular updates on programme progress, risks, and outcomes.
• Monitoring programme performance, managing resource dependencies, resolving cross-project conflicts, and developing mitigation plans to address risks and support successful programme delivery.
• Establishing and promoting project management best practices, implementing standardised processes, tools, and methodologies, and managing change initiatives to support quality outcomes and stakeholder adoption.
• Balancing benefits, risks, budgets, and delivery requirements, overseeing programme finances, and mentoring project managers and project coordinators to support successful programme delivery.

Knowledge and skill requirements

Education and Work Experience

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience working on diverse, strategic, and/or large-scale portfolios of projects and programmes within the financial services industry and/or multi-layered organisations, including 2 years’ experience managing a team, project, or initiative.
• A relevant MQF Level 6 qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Candidates without a relevant qualification must demonstrate additional relevant work experience.
• An MQF Level 7 qualification in Banking, Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field will be considered an asset.
