DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager – Automation & Engineering Projects drives end-to-end project governance for automation, capacity, and Innovation Lab initiatives within the GESI-IN (PMO/Ops Eng/Automation) team. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of approved OP1/OP2 intake requests, maintaining the India Product Development System (IPDS) master tracker, and ensuring project health through continuous risk analysis and timely escalation. The Program Manager owns launch readiness planning with backward-scheduled timelines, coordinates cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, RME, WHS, Finance, GPO and vendor partners, and delivers executive-level business review narratives (WBR, MBR, QBR). Additionally, the role produces monthly newsletters, event-driven flash reports, and leads weekly project reviews and gate-review logistics to maintain cadence and accountability across all active programs.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Tracking all approved OP(OP1 & OP2) Intake requests (ATL/BTL Category) through Laminar intake flow on Capacity, automation initiatives, Innovation Lab, Study & assessment/any other category that requires GESI-IN (Ops Eng/Automation) team’s delivery.

  2. End to end monitor and control of project through continuous risk analysis at each phases by leveraging Source. Timely escalation of leadership support through proper technical write up & WP doc.

  3. Own the Innovation lab’s master project tracker — India Product Development System (IPDS) phase, milestones, dev-cycle time, RAG status and payback for every active project. Keep it current and audit-ready.

  4. Create and maintain tracker of launch (ETA: Go-Live) backward updated status for timely actions/support.

  5. Business Review Docs: Owning end to end details & quality of all automation/capacity/IL charters for narratives for all business review docs (WBR, MBR & QBR).

  6. Monthly Innovation Lab Newsletter — project progress, wins, look ahead and team spotlights.

  7. Issue event-driven flash reports for gate outcomes, milestone hits and critical blockers for leadership attention.

  8. Coordinate across Operations, RME, WHS, Finance, GPO and vendor partners to keep cross-functional commitments on track.

A day in the life
A typical day begins with a standup reviewing project health dashboards on GES Source, flagging any RAG status shifts or emerging risks across active Engineering projects and automation charter. Mid-morning is spent updating tracker, aligning milestone timelines, and preparing concise escalation notes for leadership. After lunch, cross-functional syncs with Operations, RME, Finance, and vendor partners keep launch commitments on track. The afternoon wraps up drafting business review narratives or newsletter updates, followed by a gate-review prep session to finalize agendas and close out action items before end of day.
