Program Manager - IT Strategy

GWG Recruitment is proud to partner with Coal LSL to recruit a Program Manager - IT Strategy, a newly created role that will play a key part in delivering the organisation’s strategic technology roadmap.

Coal LSL is a Federal Government corporation that manages portable long service leave entitlements for eligible workers in the black coal mining industry. With an ongoing focus on technology, governance and continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to join the organisation at an exciting stage of its technology journey.   

About the role
Reporting to the Enterprise Portfolio Lead, you’ll provide end-to-end leadership across a significant portfolio of technology initiatives, translating strategic priorities into practical, well-governed programs of work.

A major initial focus will be mobilising Coal LSL’s multi-year IT Strategy, alongside providing oversight across existing and emerging initiatives spanning cyber security, data sensitivity and information management, AI and broader technology transformation.
You’ll operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, working closely with Project Managers, technical SMEs, senior leaders and external partners to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.   

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mobilisation and delivery of the multi-year IT Strategy
• Oversee multiple concurrent technology projects and workstreams
• Establish integrated program plans, governance and reporting frameworks
• Manage risks, dependencies, resources, budgets and delivery priorities
• Lead senior stakeholder engagement and program steering groups
• Coordinate Project Managers, technical SMEs, vendors and delivery partners
• Provide hands-on program/project leadership when required

 
About you
We’re looking for an experienced Technology Program Manager who is comfortable navigating complexity and operating with a high degree of autonomy.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience leading complex, multi-stream technology programs
• Strong technical acumen across areas such as cyber, data, digital or infrastructure
• Strong program governance, planning, risk and dependency management capability
• Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
• The ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, Project Managers and external partners
• Relevant program management qualifications/certifications will be highly regarded
