As a self-funding statutory authority, NSWALC leads vital work to protect and promote the rights, interests, and futures of Aboriginal peoples across the state.

NSWALC’s Community Division plays a central role in strengthening Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs), supporting them to build independent, culturally strong, and self-sustaining communities. The Western Zone Office helps LALCs comply with the ALRA and develop long‑term social, cultural, economic and land activation outcomes
