What they need

Who we are:

HOPE, the Philippines’ first certified B Corp, is an impact organization that has consistently been ‘Best for the World.’ 100% of its profits are invested in improving public school infrastructure, increasing livelihood opportunities, and enabling efforts that conserve the environment.

Launched in 2012, HOPE’s mission was simple: to provide Filipinos with an easy way to vote with their peso about what was important to them. We put Education at the forefront of our movement, building much-needed public school classrooms through the sale of our flagship product, Hope in Bottle.

In 2014, HOPE branched out to livelihood opportunities through agricultural interventions with the overall goal of increasing income for smallholder coconut farmers. As of 2024, we are on track to planting 2 million coconut seedlings and we look to engage even more smallholder coconut farmers in Mindanao.

Not wanting to solve one problem by contributing to another, HOPE set an audacious goal of becoming the first Philippine brand to offset 100% of its plastic footprint, making sure we walk the talk towards a safer and cleaner planet. In the same year, HOPE also launched Aling Tindera, a waste-to-cash program that aims to divert plastic waste away from nature, provide incremental income to communities, encourage behavior change and educate the public about responsible plastic waste management.

All of these efforts come together to deliver on what we at HOPE promise – a movement leveraging the power of people to achieve great things Together.

Business for Good.

About the Role:
As our Programs Associate, you will coordinate the day-to-day delivery and monitoring of HOPE’s plastic recovery program. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work with Field Coordinators (FCs) and external partners to track progress, verify impact data, address implementation issues, and recommend improvements. This role is suited to someone who is comfortable working with numbers and turning data into practical action.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Delivery and Impact

  • Coordinate collection and hauling activities, monitor the number of sites served each month, and help ensure timely site closures and pull-outs.
  • Support program decisions and implementation to improve environmental, livelihood, and community impact.
  • Analyze site locations and hold regular operational discussions with FCs to identify needs, resolve issues, and improve coverage.

Partner and Community Engagement

  • Help build and maintain a network of engaged, high-performing Aling Tindera partners.
  • Monitor partner engagement and satisfaction, and follow up on issues affecting participation or performance.
  • Assess potential aggregators and processors using operational, performance, and impact data; coordinate with existing partners on capacity and service delivery.

Data, Reporting, and Improvement

  • Collect, validate, and analyze program data; monitor data accuracy and reporting, identify trends or gaps, and prepare clear updates and recommendations.
  • Conduct site and field visits to verify reported progress and understand implementation challenges.
  • Provide verified information for impact reporting and communications.
  • Recommend improvements to program delivery, plastic recovery and processing, and operational and financial efficiency.
  • Contribute to the review of the Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard and related policies.

Cost and Operational Management

  • Monitor supplier coordination and payment processes, and flag issues that may affect program delivery.
  • Track incidental costs and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and the marketability of Aling Tindera credits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Community Development, Statistics, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in program monitoring, data analysis, impact reporting, or project coordination is an advantage.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to check data, identify trends, and explain findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Training or a certificate in monitoring and evaluation is an advantage.
  • Comfortable coordinating with field teams and external partners, and conducting site visits as needed.
  • An engineering or industrial engineering background is welcome but not required.
