Program Support Officer

UNICEF works globally to promote the survival, protection and development of children, supporting child health and nutrition, water and sanitation, quality education, and the protection of children from violence and exploitation. The Programme Support Officer will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania , supporting the UNICEF Tanzania Country Office. Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Representative Programme , the role will provide high-level programme and administrative support, with a particular focus on donor reporting, grants management, resource mobilization, data analysis, digital tools and programme information management .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Deputy Representative's calendar and coordinate meetings.
• Prepare accurate and coherent minutes and follow up on key actions.
• Support the preparation of comprehensive briefing packages for donor and partner engagements and high-level events, including content creation and photography.
• Review, copyedit and refine donor reports, project proposals and concept notes , ensuring quality and alignment with UNICEF branding, style and messaging.
• Draft clear communications to share reports, briefs and knowledge products with internal and external audiences.
• Maintain and update the internal funding pipeline using Excel trackers .
• Produce regular reports, dashboards and presentations on key performance indicators and donor reporting.
• Apply digital and AI tools to synthesize complex data and generate actionable insights for statutory reports, dashboards and presentations.
• Support grants management , including monitoring grant expiry and supporting reprogramming or extension processes.
• Generate fund-utilization reports to track expenditure and commitments.
• Use AI, automation tools and digital platforms to streamline data analysis, report generation and other repetitive processes.
• Serve as a resource for digital platforms such as SAP, Service Gateway, Power BI and SharePoint .
• Maintain effective document repositories and SharePoint systems for programme documentation.

Profile Required

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience , particularly in:

• Programme support
• Project management
• Resource mobilization
• Grant management
• Donor reporting

Relevant experience should preferably have been gained within the UN system, international organizations or the non-profit sector .

Candidates should demonstrate experience in donor reporting, grant management and resource mobilization processes , as well as proficiency in enterprise resource planning and data visualization platforms such as SAP, Power BI and SharePoint .

Familiarity with digital productivity tools, AI-driven data synthesis, automation platforms, photography and design is also required. Strong interpersonal, networking, communication, teamwork, planning and organizational skills are important for the role.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Development Studies, International Relations, Data Science , or a related field is considered an asset.
• The assignment notes that university graduates are preferred , while candidates with some university education may also be considered.

Languages

• Fluent English – required
• Knowledge of Swahili or another UN official language is an asset.
