What they need
Great with people, even better at keeping things moving?
We're looking for a sharp, proactive Programme Coordinator who can bring people, projects and priorities together. Someone who confidently engages senior leaders, keeps things on track and turns complex information into clear, meaningful reporting.
A chance to join Whakaata Māori, a purpose-led organisation championing te reo Māori and Māori storytelling.
About the opportunity
Working across approximately 30 organisation-wide initiatives, you'll bring structure, visibility and momentum to a new way of working.
Partnering with senior leaders and programme leads, you'll:
- Coordinate multiple projects and workstreams, tracking milestones, actions and priorities.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, confidently following up and constructively challenging when needed.
- Maintain dashboards, trackers and executive reporting through Asana and other tools.
- Support governance meetings, planning cycles and programme documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
What you'll bring
Strong communication skills and EQ are essential! You know how to read the room, influence with confidence and hold people accountable while maintaining great relationships.
You'll also bring:
- Experience in programme/project coordination, PMO, governance or similar.
- Exceptional organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong reporting skills, Microsoft 365 proficiency and digital systems capability. Ideally experience with Asana or similar tools (ie: monday.com or Trello).
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with plenty of initiative.
An appreciation for te ao Māori and tikanga Māori is important, alongside confidence using everyday te reo Māori greetings and correct pronunciation. C
Formal project management qualifications aren't essential — your ability to connect with people and keep things moving matters most.
Why consider this opportunity?
- 12-month FTC, with temporary options also considered.
- Meaningful work supporting the revitalisation of te reo Māori.
- Exposure to senior leaders and high-impact organisational initiatives.
- Opportunity to shape processes and embed new ways of working.
- Flexible start and finish times in a collaborative, values-led environment.
- Beautiful, modern facilities in East Tamaki
