Programme Coordinator (Smoking Cessation)

The Program Coordinator will be providing specialist advice and support to patients about tobacco addiction and provide evidence-based approaches in line with national guidance and good practice to help them to quit stop smoking.

The main responsibilities consist of working closely with various stakeholders including pharmacists, psychologists and community partners. They will also support and train staff to provide stop smoking interventions, establishing the systems and processes to facilitate this and report interventions and quit attempts.

Responsibilities

• Screening inpatients for smoking status, and provide smoking cessation counselling
• Working with smoking cessation partners to ensure that there is a continuity of support after patient has been discharged
• Train and perform portable spirometry
• Provide COPD, airway disease and smoking cessation counselling for patients
• Provides advice on the pharmacotherapy for smoking cessation
• Manage follow ups on patients
• Participates and coordinate research related to COPD/smoking cessation

Requirements

• Bachelor in Nursing with 2 years’ relevant work experience
• An experience in counselling patients with respiratory conditions would be advantageous
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team consists of other healthcare professionals
• Having a Good Clinical Practice Certificate for clinical trials would be an advantage
• Valid registration with the Singapore Nursing Board
