What they need

Company: One Earth Academy

Role: Programme Developer — sustainability education

Location: Remote / work from home (Gulf-based), with occasional in-person meetings and school visits

Job type: Full-time

Salary: AED 7,500 per month.

Full training provided. This role is well suited to a graduate or someone early in their career.

Change the world, one classroom at a time

One Earth Academy is on a mission to put sustainability at the heart of how the next generation learns. Through our flagship, Climate Kids Academy, and our wider sustainability programmes, we are rolling out sustainability education across the Gulf and beyond, giving children the knowledge, the habits and the sense of possibility to build a more sustainable future.

This is not education for its own sake. Every module we build is helping to shape a generation that will live, work and lead more sustainably than the one before it. If that mission matters to you, this role puts you right at the heart of it.

We are a small, ambitious team spread across the UAE, the UK and Australia, and we are growing fast. Everyone here shapes what we build, and you would too. This is a genuine opportunity for a graduate or early-career changemaker to learn valuable, in-demand skills and grow with us.

The role

We are looking for a bright, motivated Programme Developer to help us create our sustainability courses and bring them to life for learners.

You will help turn our curriculum into engaging online modules, using your care and attention to detail to make sure every lesson lands well. This is creative, meaningful work: you will be shaping how young people first understand climate, nature and their own power to make a difference. You do not need prior experience with our tools; we provide full training, and it typically takes only a week or two to learn everything you need.

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and it will be the focus of much of your work. But it is not the whole of it. Alongside Climate Kids Academy, you will build modules across our wider portfolio, from professional training courses to bespoke digital learning platforms we create for other organisations. It is genuinely varied work, so you will learn broadly and never be stuck building the same thing twice.

Beyond building the courses, you will have the chance to step into schools themselves, helping to run events such as "ask a scientist" sessions and supporting the delivery of our programmes on the ground. You will see your work move from screen to classroom, and see the difference it makes.

You will work closely with our Founder and CEO and with our lead programme developer, learning our tools and our approach as you go. Full training is provided; what matters most is the mindset, the care and the attitude you bring.

What you will do

  • Help build engaging online learning modules across our portfolio, with sustainability education at its core, using Articulate Rise (full training provided)
  • Craft content that is accurate, age-appropriate and genuinely engaging for young learners
  • Use your understanding of learners to shape content that resonates
  • Work closely with our lead programme developer on the design and quality of the modules
  • Help create supporting media using AI video tools (training provided)
  • Take part in school-based events and activities, such as "ask a scientist" sessions, and help coordinate delivery on the ground
  • Publish and manage courses on our learning platform (training provided)

What you will bring

Essential

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A meticulous eye for detail and accuracy. This is central to the role: you will be trusted to get work right first time, so it can go straight to learners without lengthy re-checking
  • A real passion for sustainability and for the difference this work can make
  • Reliable, self-disciplined and able to follow a clear process precisely
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude: you get on with things and take initiative
  • Self-motivated and dependable working remotely, with clear communication
  • Happy to visit schools from time to time, and warm and confident in a classroom or event setting

Desirable

  • Arabic alongside English (a real advantage, as we develop content in both languages, but not essential)
  • An education background, or experience working in or around the education sector
  • A background or interest in sustainability, environmental education or science
  • Familiarity with e-learning or content tools such as Articulate Rise, LearnWorlds, or AI video tools (for example Synthesia). These can all be trained, so enthusiasm to learn matters more than existing experience

If you have the essentials and a genuine appetite to learn the rest, we would like to hear from you. You do not need prior experience with our tools, and this role is well suited to graduates and those early in their careers.

Why join us

  • Do work that genuinely matters: help shape a more sustainable future for the next generation
  • Learn valuable, in-demand skills in e-learning, AI content tools and digital course creation
  • Get out from behind the screen and into schools, seeing your work come alive in the classroom
  • Real variety: sustainability sits at the core, but you will build across a broad and growing range of courses and clients
  • Full training and close mentoring from our founder and lead developer
  • A genuine graduate opportunity, with room to grow as we scale

How to apply

To apply, please send your CV together with a short cover letter (not a generic one). In it, we would like you to tell us three things:

  • Why our mission matters to you
  • A little about yourself and your background
  • One example of work where accuracy and attention to detail were essential, and how you made sure you got it right

Applications without a cover letter that addresses these points will not be considered, so please take a moment to tailor it. It helps us find the right person, and it tells us a lot about how you work.

Shortlisted candidates will then be asked to complete a short paid trial task (building one sample module from content we provide) so we can see how you work and, above all, how accurately. No prior experience with our tools is needed; we will show you what to do.

One Earth Academy welcomes applicants of all backgrounds.
