What they need

About AInsurCo

AInsurCo is a specialist insurance consulting firm delivering transformation, technology and data-led solutions to insurers and reinsurers. We work with clients across the insurance market to modernise operations, implement systems and deliver complex change programmes.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Programme Manager to lead the delivery of insurance transformation projects, ideally involving policy administration systems (PAS). The successful candidate will combine strong programme and project delivery skills with a practical understanding of insurance operations, systems and processes.

This is not a purely governance-focused role. We need someone who can take ownership of delivery, work closely with client stakeholders and delivery teams, resolve issues, manage dependencies and drive projects through to successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme and project delivery: Own end-to-end delivery of insurance transformation projects, ensuring milestones, scope, budget, resources and quality are effectively managed.
  • Policy administration systems: Lead or support PAS implementation, migration, upgrade or modernisation projects, covering requirements, configuration, data migration, integrations, testing and go-live.
  • Hands-on execution: Develop and maintain integrated project plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, actions, decisions and delivery reports.
  • Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, business users, technology teams, third-party vendors and internal delivery teams.
  • Delivery governance: Establish proportionate governance, manage steering committees and provide clear, concise progress reporting, escalating risks and decisions where required.
  • Business and technology alignment: Translate business objectives into deliverable workstreams, ensuring operational, functional, data and technical requirements are understood and addressed.
  • Risk and issue management: Proactively identify delivery risks, resolve blockers and manage cross-workstream dependencies.
  • Testing and implementation: Coordinate business readiness, UAT, defect resolution, cutover planning, implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Change management: Support business adoption, process changes, communications and transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Supplier and team coordination: Hold delivery partners accountable, manage resource requirements and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience managing projects or programmes within the insurance industry.
  • Strong hands-on project delivery experience, rather than solely PMO or governance experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior business and technology leaders.
  • Experience working with policy administration systems, insurance platforms or major insurance technology transformations.
  • Strong planning, organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, timelines and delivery resources.
  • Ability to work across business and technology teams, translating complex requirements into actionable delivery plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and drive decisions.
  • A proactive, delivery-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with PAS implementation, migration, replacement or modernisation.
  • Knowledge of life, general insurance, commercial insurance or reinsurance operations.
  • Experience with policy, claims, billing, finance or underwriting systems.
  • Experience managing data migration, system integration, reporting or operational change workstreams.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Relevant project or programme management qualifications, such as PRINCE2, PMP or MSP.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is a practical, delivery-focused Programme Manager who understands insurance, can navigate complex stakeholder environments and is comfortable getting into the detail. They should be able to move between senior-level discussions and day-to-day delivery management, ensuring that plans translate into tangible outcomes.

Experience with policy administration systems is strongly preferred, but candidates with substantial insurance transformation experience and a strong track record of delivering complex technology-led change will also be considered.

How to Apply

If you have a strong background in insurance transformation, programme delivery and stakeholder

management, we would like to hear from you. Please share your CV outlining relevant projects, systems experience and delivery achievements.
