Progression Coach

To support delivery of Llamau’s Education and Participation provision in order to improve outcomes into Education, Employment and Training for the people that we support.

Main Duties - Working directly with learners.

• Work alongside colleagues within Llamau to identify young people who are not accessing Education, Employment or Training.
• Work in collaboration with colleagues across Llamau to build positive and lasting relationships with individuals to facilitate progression.
• Work with external stakeholders to ensure that referred individuals are supported to engage in Llamau’s own education provision
• Support to develop and deliver engagement provision to suit individual learner needs and interests relating to their next step;
• Support engagement with appropriate learning provision linked to their individual needs. This includes Llamau’s in house education provision.
• Support each learner to fully understand and complete any induction process;
• Support the delivery of Individual Learning Plans with each learner ensuring SMART goals and targets within Llamau’s own education provision
• Review targets regularly with learners in conjunction with Llamau’s Teaching team reflecting progress made through marking and learning diaries
• Work to identify suitable progression pathways, inclusive of employment and support learners individually to obtain these in conjuction with Llamau’s teaching team
• Prepare and develop resources to suit individual learner needs and interests;
• Work directly with Careers Wales to ensure each learner has direct access to impartial careers advice and guidance.
• Support learners to engage in their preferred next step, ensuring the required level of support is given to ensure sustainability.

At Llamau we believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Our mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.

30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.

Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.

That's why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and make sure that they are supported to rebuild their futures.
