Progressive Care Nurse

Role: Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit Weekend Work Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity, evidence-based care to adult step-down patients, including cardiac and complex medical cases.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement care interventions such as titrating IV drips and coordinating interdisciplinary care teams.
• Educate patients and families to promote understanding and engagement in care.
• Ensure safe patient transitions and uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Mentor peers, precept new staff, and contribute to a collaborative, compassionate hospital culture.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current RN licensure.
• Experience in high-acuity or step-down care preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and patient education.
