Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Accountant to join our growing finance team in a full-time remote capacity aligning with Australian business hours. In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining key financial operations, ensuring precision across reporting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to keep project finances on track and ensure flawless day-to-day accounting.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and monthly financial reports to ensure high data integrity.
• AP/AR & Billing: Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles, issuing client invoices, tracking procurement expenses, and monitoring incoming collections.
• Project Cost Tracking: Collaborate with operational leads to assist with project budgeting, cost monitoring, and variance analysis across active deliverables.
• Payroll & Statutory Support: Support payroll processing routines, maintain accurate audit trails, and assist with compliance, audit preparations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Process & Documentation: Maintain organized financial filing systems, manage contract payment schedules, and keep standard accounting procedures up to date.

What You’ll Need

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of core accounting or general finance experience within a fast-paced environment.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and hands-on experience with modern cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or SAP).
• Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical thinking, strong attention to detail, and top-tier written and verbal communication skills.
• Remote Readiness: Ability to work independently during Australian business hours with a reliable home office setup and stable connectivity.

What Will Set You Apart

• Prior experience supporting clients or operations within the Australian/New Zealand (ANZ) market.
• Practical exposure to Australian payroll standards, GST filing, or local tax principles.
• CPA / CA qualification (or active progress toward professional certification).
• Experience utilizing modern project management and automation tools alongside cloud ERP ecosystems.
