Project Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization that supports large-scale infrastructure and project-based operations. We are seeking a Project Accountant / Cost Controller who enjoys partnering with operations, driving financial visibility, and helping leadership make informed business decisions.

You'll play a critical role in monitoring project financial performance, forecasting costs, managing cash flow, and identifying risks before they impact profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and monitor project budgets, commitments, subcontractor costs, purchase orders, and spending activity.
• Manage project forecasting, cost projections, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis.
• Support change order administration and ensure accurate financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner closely with project managers and leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Prepare monthly project reporting, including budget-to-actual analysis and Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) forecasts.
• Assist with customer invoicing, forecasting, and project financial reconciliations.
• Identify financial risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives to improve overall project performance.

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting, project accounting, cost accounting, or cost control experience.
• Strong Excel skills and financial reporting capabilities.
• Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, or other project-based environments is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, accounting, and leadership teams.
