Hands-on Project Accountant (Construction, Stores & Contracts) to manage project accounts, the site store, and contractor deposits/balances for new warehouse construction and completion works at an industrial site in Ibeju-Lekki. Competitive salary.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Keep accurate project accounts: budgets, cost codes, payments, accruals, and monthly cost reports for each warehouse and completed project
• Contract management: maintain a register of every contractor and supplier. For each one, track the contract sum, deposits paid, milestones, retention and outstanding balance. Flag overpayments and slippage early
• Check invoices and payment requests against contracts, measured work, and site sign-off before anything is paid
• Store management: run the site store. Receive, inspect and record all materials (cement, blocks, rods, roofing and so on), and issue them only against signed requisitions
• Keep stock and bin cards up to date, carry out weekly physical counts and reconcile them to purchases and usage. Investigate variances
• Reconcile project bank and cash accounts. Manage petty cash with receipts for every naira
• Produce a weekly report for management covering cash spent, balances due, store position, and cost against budget
• Work closely with the site builder/engineer and procurement on material planning and reorders
• Keep all documents (contracts, receipts, waybills, approvals) filed and ready for audit

Requirements:

• B.Sc/HND in Accounting or a related field. ACA, ACCA, ICAN (or part-qualified) is an advantage
• 3+ years in accounting, ideally on construction, real estate or manufacturing projects
• Proven store-keeping or inventory control experience
• Strong Excel skills. Familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
• Meticulous, honest, and firm with contractors, and comfortable working on site
• Must be able to resume at Ibeju-Lekki daily
