Project Accountant

We are working on a confidential search for a well-established General Contractor based in Surrey, BC, with a strong commercial TI and multi-family portfolio across the province.

They are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is a project-side role where you will own the financial side of a dedicated project team from setup through to closeout.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Progress draws and owner billing
• Subcontractor billing and holdbacks under the BC Builders Lien Act
• Trade compliance (WorkSafeBC clearances, insurance, contracts)
• Job costing and cost coding
• Monthly cost reports, budget reconciliations and variance analysis
• Revenue forecasting alongside your Project Managers
• Closeout through to holdback release and final accounts

What they need to see:

• 5+ years of project accounting in commercial construction, ideally GC side
• Procore experience is essential (be specific on your resume about how you have used it)
• Knowledge of the BC Builders Lien Act
• Someone who has owned a portfolio of jobs end to end, not just supported one
