Project Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities for assigned real estate development and construction projects
• Track project costs, budgets, invoices, and expenditures
• Prepare and maintain project financial reports and schedules
• Assist with monthly close and account reconciliations
• Review project-related invoices and ensure expenses are properly coded and allocated
• Work closely with project managers, development teams, and other internal stakeholders
• Monitor project budgets and identify variances or discrepancies
• Assist with construction and development accounting, including project cost tracking
• Support financial reporting and other accounting initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of accounting experience, with project accounting experience preferred
• Real estate, construction, or development accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience working for a real estate owner/developer is ideal
• Candidates coming from a general contractor or construction environment will also be considered
• Strong understanding of project costs, budgets, and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
