Project Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing mechanical contracting firm. This individual will be responsible for managing project billing, accounts receivable, vendor invoices, and job cost reporting while working closely with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer billing and invoicing across multiple construction projects.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate project cost allocation.
• Review job cost reports to ensure accurate and timely billing.
• Work closely with project managers to review labor costs, expenses, and project budgets.
• Prepare month-end project adjustments based on cost-to-complete estimates.
• Analyze project financials and generate job costing reports.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
• Communicate with internal teams, customers, and external partners to resolve billing discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or billing.
• Experience within construction, mechanical contracting, or a related industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of job costing, project billing, and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with Trimble or similar construction accounting software is a plus.
