  • Maintain accurate records of project transactions, cost codes, contracts, and change orders.
  • Support monthly financial closing, account reconciliations, and project financial reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain job cost reports, WIP schedules, and supporting financial documentation.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and site teams to validate financial information.
  • Monitor project-related accounts payable and accounts receivable to support timely payments and collections.
  • Identify cost discrepancies, billing issues, and financial risks, escalating matters when appropriate.
  • Support audit requirements, financial controls, and compliance with internal accounting procedures.
  • Assist in improving project accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or another project-based environment.
  • Experience with construction job costing, project billing, subcontractor invoices, and cost tracking.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software.
  • Familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud is an asset.
  • Experience with WIP reporting, retainage, and progress billing is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
