Project Accounting Associate

Job Summary:

Must-Have Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in project accounting and financial reporting, including:

o Preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement)

o General Ledger (GL) management and safekeeping of project-related accounts

o Account reconciliation and balance close-out

o Financial analysis and variance investigation

o Preparation and maintenance of supporting schedules and reports

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as the role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reports used for business decision-making. The candidate should be able to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, validate financial data, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) is required. This role is heavily focused on project financial reporting and requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and account analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in project accounting and financial reporting. Candidates with less than two years of experience may require extensive supervision given the complexity of the role.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an advantage but not required

• Industry experience in Real Estate, Construction, or Manufacturing is highly preferred, as these industries involve project-based accounting, cost monitoring, and financial reporting with similar business complexities.

• Experience using Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP systems.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including the use of formulas, functions, PivotTables, lookups, and data analysis tools to efficiently prepare and analyze financial reports.
