What they need
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an organised, motivated and proactive individual to support our busy ecology and biosecurity teams. This role will be based in our Auckland office.
In this role you’ll provide project and operational support to our Ecology and Biosecurity consultants, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You’ll be the person who keeps things running behind the scenes, coordinating project logistics, maintaining important records and databases, entering and managing project data, preparing documentation for the project team, supporting health and safety requirements, and managing the equipment our teams rely on every day. From time to time, you may also be required to spend time in the field, assisting our consultants with non-technical field tasks to help them safely undertake fieldwork.
About you
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who is willing to jump in and help where necessary. You enjoy managing multiple priorities, finding practical solutions and take pride in being reliable and responsive. You’ll be comfortable working with detailed information, including data entry and record keeping.
You’ll also bring the following skills and attributes:
- Experience in administration, coordination, or project support roles.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks and priorities in a timely fashion.
- Confidence working with Microsoft Office (most importantly Word and Excel).
- Strong attention to detail, with confidence managing data, records, documentation and project information accurately and consistently.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support others.
- The ability to adapt quickly when priorities change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Problem solving skills to troubleshoot on the fly.
- A practical mindset and interest in working alongside environmental professionals.
- A full and current drivers’ licence.
Experience supporting field-based teams or health and safety processes would be an advantage but not essential.
