What they need
Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Project Analyst - Technology Programs to support the delivery of complex transformation and project initiatives within a Federal Government environment.
About the Organisation
This Federal Government agency delivers programs and services that support Australians and their communities, working closely with stakeholders to improve outcomes through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About the Team
You will join a collaborative project delivery team supporting the successful delivery of complex technology and business transformation initiatives. Working alongside Project Managers, Delivery Leads, business stakeholders, and technical specialists, you will help ensure projects are effectively planned, governed, monitored, and delivered.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, analysing information, coordinating activities, and helping project teams stay on track.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Analyst to support project delivery, reporting, governance, and coordination activities across a complex project environment.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with data, reporting, and project information to identify trends, risks, issues, and dependencies. The successful candidate will be naturally curious, confident in raising concerns when required, and comfortable working across both business and technical stakeholder groups.
Rather than being a specialist scheduling role, this position focuses on project reporting, governance, program controls, stakeholder coordination, and delivery support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology and business transformation projects.
- Maintain project plans, schedules, action registers, risk and issue logs, and project documentation.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies, following up with stakeholders as required.
- Support governance activities, including meeting papers, agendas, minutes, and project reporting.
- Gather, analyse, and consolidate project information to support reporting and decision-making.
- Coordinate communication and engagement across business and technical teams.
- Identify, monitor, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies where required.
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, briefs, and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, processes, and ways of working.
About You You will bring:
- Experience supporting technology, digital, ICT, or business transformation projects within large and complex organisations.
- Experience in PMO, Project Analyst, Project Officer, Project Coordinator, Project Controls, Scheduler, or similar roles.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience supporting project reporting, governance, and delivery activities.
- The ability to identify trends, risks, issues, and dependencies and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining project plans, status reports, action registers, risk registers, and issue logs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to raise concerns and escalate issues where required.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Desirable
- Experience working within Australian Government project environments.
- Experience working within Agile, hybrid, or multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Experience supporting complex programs or transformation initiatives.
- Scheduling experience combined with broader PMO, governance, reporting, or project controls expertise.
Benefits
- 12-month contract opportunity with Potential extension
- $61.85 per hour + Superannuation
- Multiple locations available across Australia: Surry Hills, NSW; Deakin, ACT; Richmond, VIC; Brisbane, QLD and Adelaide, SA
Please note the successful candidate for the role must hold Australian Citizenship.
