Project Architect

Presence Design PLLC is looking for a concept-driven, technically-focused Project Architect to join our team as key collaborator on projects and the office as a whole – project types include urban infill multi-family, commercial, retail and faith based structures. Other parts of the practice include inhouse rezoning and facilities planning. Join our design studio of architectural developers and designers with a focus on using unique designs providing high yield solutions. The firms focus is in creating a holistic approach to architecture and development. With an emphasis on promoting community’s desires for higher quality of life along with an economical approach to the built environment.

Qualified candidates have 5-15 years of experience, an architectural license, demonstrated experience with all phases of the design and documentation process using Revit, AutoCAD and Rhino to coordination with consultants and the ability to work with interdisciplinary design teams and client representatives. Project expertise in multi-family and mixed use developments of 300+ units to completion is a must along with a understanding of local building codes and ordinances to complete such projects.

5-15 years experience, Licensed Architect, at least 2 years experience in a project architect position.

· Design and Draft Building Plans to strengthen the overall design concept.

· Have verbal and technical skills to communicate with consultants and clients

· Knowledge of construction types, zoning ordinances, building codes and building materials is a must.

· The ability to Prepare Documents and Specifications with limited direction.

· The ability to budget and Schedule projects.

· Must be able to help direct others to achieve a full documentation set.

· Must be well versed in Revit and AutoCAD.

· A high level understanding of the development process from proforma to completion is preferred.

· Must be able to work independent of direction to complete projects.

· Personal characteristics that include being intellectually curious, congenial, collaborative, and articulate, with good judgment about people and situation is preferred.

Project Architect Skills and Qualifications

Project architects need to possess both a technical aptitude for designing and developing projects and the ability to manage teams, schedules, and budgets. Project architects generally need at least a bachelor’s degree in architecture, along with the following skills:

· Architectural Design – Project architects need extensive experience with drafting building plans and blueprints, often in collaboration with engineers and clients. Project architects need to be licensed in their state, which requires passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE)

· Schedule Management – Because they oversee projects from initial client meetings through completion of construction, project architects need to successfully manage schedules and set project timelines

· Team Leadership – Project architects are able to successfully lead and manage teams, including contractors and other personnel within their architecture firms

· Written and Verbal Communication – Effective communication is also key for project architects, as they need to prepare documents and specifications and communicate directly with clients, contractors, and other personnel

· Budgeting – Project architects have a solid grasp on project budgeting to ensure profitability. This can involve determining material needs and costs and reviewing contractor estimates during the planning phase

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,252.00 - $110,350.00 per year
