What they need
About Studio STH
Studio STH is an Australian architecture and interior design practice dedicated to creating environments that enhance lives and strengthen communities.
For nearly five decades, we have delivered forward-thinking, people-centred architecture. While healthcare remains at the heart of our work, our expertise extends to education, research, science, aged care and institutional projects.
We design at all scales, from local community facilities to complex international healthcare projects, ensuring every project is purposeful, efficient and impactful.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced, registered Architect to join our Adelaide studio.
This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a small, supportive and collaborative team, while enjoying the benefits of being part of an established national architectural practice.
You'll work closely with experienced colleagues on a range of architectural projects, taking responsibility for design development, documentation and coordination. We're looking for someone who brings both strong design sensibilities and sound technical skills: an architect who enjoys solving problems, contributing ideas and seeing good design translated into well-resolved solutions.
In a small studio, everyone makes a difference. You'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to projects, develop strong working relationships and broaden your experience, with access to the expertise and resources of our national practice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Contributing to architectural design and design development across different project stages
- Taking responsibility for architectural documentation and technical resolution
- Coordinating with consultants and other project team members
- Supporting contract administration and construction-phase services, including responding to site and technical queries
- Taking the lead on smaller projects where appropriate, depending on your experience and capability
- Using Revit to develop and communicate design solutions
- Applying relevant codes, standards and project requirements
- Participating in design discussions, stakeholder workshops and project meetings
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver thoughtful, coordinated and high-quality project outcomes
- Collaborating with our interstate studios where project needs arise
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a registered Architect with at least 6 years of professional experience
- Has strong design sensibilities, with the ability to develop and resolve architectural solutions
- Is highly proficient in Revit and architectural documentation
- Has sound technical knowledge and experience coordinating with consultants
- Understands how to balance design quality, functionality and practical project requirements
- Communicates clearly and works effectively with colleagues, consultants and clients
- Is proactive, adaptable and comfortable taking responsibility for their work
- Enjoys being part of a close-knit team and contributing to a positive, collaborative studio environment
Experience in healthcare architecture is highly regarded, but not essential. We welcome applications from architects working in other sectors who can demonstrate how their experience and skills would translate to our projects.
Why Studio STH?
Our Adelaide studio offers something a little different: the opportunity to be part of a close-knit team where your contribution is valued, supported by the depth of expertise and resources of a national practice.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals who care about good design, enjoy collaborating and take pride in what they deliver. We value curiosity, professional growth and sharing knowledge across our studios.
We also offer:
- Flexible working arrangements, after an initial probationary period
- Paid parental leave, subject to qualifying periods
- Academy STH, our structured internal continuing professional development programme
- A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme supporting employee wellbeing
- Opportunities to collaborate with specialists and project teams across our national practice
Whether you're looking for a more connected studio environment, the opportunity to make a greater contribution, or simply a great team to be part of, we'd love to hear from you.
Applying
If you'd like to join us, please apply with your CV, cover letter and portfolio.
In your cover letter, we'd particularly like to hear about your relevant project experience, your approach to design and technical delivery, and what interests you about joining Studio STH.
If your background is outside healthcare, tell us how you see your experience translating to the work we do.
Other offers great for you!
