Project Architect

About the Role

The client is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join its dynamic Poughkeepsie office. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing projects from design through execution while serving as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and municipal agencies.

The ideal candidate will bring 12–15+ years of professional architecture experience , strong project management and leadership skills, and advanced proficiency with Revit and BIM .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of architectural projects from design through completion.
• Oversee design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and project delivery .
• Manage client communication, project schedules, budgets, and overall project coordination.
• Lead and mentor project team members while coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize Revit, BIM, and Enscape for design development, visualization, documentation, and coordination.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage municipal entitlements, approvals, and permitting processes .
• Review drawings and project documents for quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes.
• Represent the firm professionally with clients, municipalities, consultants, and project teams.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of professional architecture experience with demonstrated project management responsibility.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Registered Architect preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, BIM, and Enscape .
• Proven experience leading architectural projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of design, documentation, codes, permitting, and municipal approval processes.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
• Must be local to Dutchess, Orange, or Ulster County, NY.
• Must be comfortable working full-time, in-office in Poughkeepsie, NY .
