Project Assistant (Construction Industry)

Lai Pau Construction Sdn Bhd, a leading construction company based in Melaka Tengah, Melaka, is seeking a talented Project Assistant to join their team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in managing the contractual and financial aspects of building construction and infrastructure projects. What you'll be doing

1. Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for a project
2. Prepare a budget based on the client's requirements and ensure the project is completed within budget
3. Prepare tender and contract documents
4. Assign work to subcontractors and hire them based on the budget
5. Monitor the construction project and ensure it meets legal and quality standards
6. Assist in resolving disputes between parties involved in the project
7. Liaise with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
8. Value completed work, manage budgets, and oversee payments
9. Collaborating with the project team to optimize resource allocation and project delivery

What we're looking for

1. Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
2. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the building construction or infrastructure industry added advantage
3. Understanding of contract administration, cost control, and project financial management
4. Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and construction-related tools
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
6. Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
7. Time management and organizational ability
8. Adaptability and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
9. Willingness to travel to project sites when required
10. Fresh graduates encourage to apply
