Project Control Engineer (Procurement & Progress Claims)

Plusmy Advance Engineering Sdn Bhd is an electrical works contractor specialising in electrical and M&E construction projects.

Job Summary :

We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Control Engineer to manage procurement activities, progress claims and project documentation while supporting cost control, project progress monitoring and engineering coordination.

Key Responsibilities :

1) Procurement

• Prepare purchase requisitions, obtain quotations, compare prices and issue purchase orders for electrical materials and equipment.
• Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules and maintain accurate procurement records.

2) Progress Claims

• Prepare and submit progress claims to clients and follow up on claim certification and payment status.
• Prepare, track and maintain variation orders (VOs) and supporting claim documents.

3) Project Control & Engineering Analysis

• Review electrical drawings and specifications and assist with material take-offs and BOQ verification.
• Review technical submissions and vendor quotations against project requirements.
• Monitor project costs and progress, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Assess the cost and schedule implications of design changes and variation orders.
• Prepare project progress reports and assist with S-curves and project schedules, where required.

4) Coordination

• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, suppliers and the Finance Department to ensure accurate documentation and timely project updates.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in project control, procurement, progress claims or electrical/M&E construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, progress claims and variation orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
