About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to oversee cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting across a portfolio of energy and infrastructure capital projects. This individual will play a key role in ensuring project plans are realistic, financial targets are monitored, risks are identified, and project execution remains aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in project controls, including both cost and schedule management, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, procurement, finance, and external project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain project controls standards, including work breakdown structures (WBS), cost codes, scheduling frameworks, and progress measurement processes.
  • Develop and manage integrated project budgets, cost estimates, baseline schedules, cash flow forecasts, and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, and expenditures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering development, engineering, construction, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Analyze critical paths, schedule risks, and potential delays while identifying mitigation and acceleration strategies.
  • Implement change control processes for scope, cost, and schedule, including tracking changes and supporting approval workflows.
  • Assess project risks and opportunities, quantify potential cost and schedule impacts, and support contingency planning.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, finance, contractors, and external project partners to ensure alignment across project deliverables.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, forecasts, and performance metrics to support project reviews and investment decisions.
  • Support contract change management, claims documentation, invoice reviews, cost accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project controls tools, systems, reporting processes, and governance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, scheduling, or project management within energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience with both cost controls and project scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.
  • Understanding of EPC contracting, procurement workflows, cost forecasting, change management, and project progress measurement.
  • Ability to analyze complex project data and communicate findings through clear, actionable reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting power generation, utilities, industrial, midstream, or data center infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, owner's engineers, and joint venture partners.
  • Familiarity with earned value management, project risk analysis, and capital project governance.
  • PMP, AACE/CCP, PSP, or another relevant professional certification.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus eligibility.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Professional development opportunities and additional employee benefits.
