We're seeking an experienced Manager, Project Controls to lead project controls activities on a major capital project. This role will support the project from engineering through construction and commissioning, overseeing cost, scheduling, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting functions while serving as a key member of the Owner's project team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day project controls execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all project controls functions across large, complex engineering and construction projects, including planning, scheduling, cost control, estimating, forecasting, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting.
• Manage the development, maintenance, and execution of project controls systems, processes, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review project performance and provide data-driven analysis to identify trends, risks, schedule impacts, cost variances, and mitigation strategies.
• Partner closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and Construction teams to ensure alignment across all project controls activities.
• Monitor scope changes, design changes, schedule impacts, and change management activities while assessing potential effects on project cost and schedule.
• Develop and maintain project baselines for cost, schedule, and progress measurement.
• Establish and manage project reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to project stakeholders and leadership.
• Lead project risk management processes, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, tracking, and reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of project progress measurement methodologies and earned value reporting practices.
• Oversee schedule development, updates, analysis, and integration with the overall project execution strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement and implementation of industry best practices within project controls.
• Mentor, lead, and develop project controls personnel while supporting staffing, performance management, and team development initiatives.
• Facilitate project controls reviews, presentations, and reporting to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in project controls, project management, engineering, construction, or related disciplines.
• 8+ years in a leadership or management-level project controls role.

Preferred Experience

• Mining, heavy industrial, EPC, or large capital project experience.
• Strong background in project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management, and risk management.
• Experience working from an Owner's perspective on capital projects.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and project scheduling best practices.
• Experience with SAP, EcoSys, ERP systems, and project controls software.
• Strong understanding of project estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and reporting tools.
