Project Controller – Spain

At Verdalia Bioenergy, we see organic waste as a resource, not a problem. YOUR IMPACT

As Project Controller – Spain , you'll own cost and performance control of our Spanish biomethane plants: CAPEX on the plants under construction, and management control of each plant as it enters operation.

Reporting to the Director of Controlling & FP&A, you'll give the group a single, reliable view of budget, commitments, certified work and payments for every project, and explain deviations before they reach the books. You'll work hand in hand with Construction, Procurement, the plant teams and Finance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the control view of every project : approved budget, commitments, certified work, invoiced and paid, with forecast to completion.
• Review construction certifications against contracts and progress, flagging overruns, change orders and claims early.
• Reconcile project costs monthly with construction in progress in the books, together with Accounting & Reporting.
• Prepare the budget and forecast of each Spanish plant as it enters operation, and run its monthly management close.
• Build operating KPIs per plant (production, feedstock, unit costs) aligned with group reporting.
• Support key decisions with project and plant input for the management pack, Board, shareholder and lender reporting.
• Visit sites regularly to understand why costs move, not just that they moved.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or Finance.
• 3+ years in project, CAPEX or management control in construction, energy, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience with construction contracts, certifications and change orders.
• Strong cost modelling and variance analysis, comfortable with ERP data and large spreadsheets.
• Ability to work with engineers and site teams as well as with finance.
• Fluent Spanish and a good command of English. Italian is a plus.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with biogas, biomethane or other renewable energy plants.
• NetSuite or a similar ERP, and Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Project-finance or lender reporting.
