Project Controls Advisor III

Job Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide BPO Project Services Cost, Schedule & Controls Engineers, Cost & Schedule Leads, and Business Leads.
• Provide technical engagement for CAT III projects and informal technical engagement for CAT IV+ projects.
• Lead the development and enhancement of project services tools, practices, and procedures.
• Engage Cost & Schedule Leads and Business Leads to identify harmonization opportunities and collect/share best practices across the organization.
• Lead significant efficiency and competitiveness improvement initiatives, including contribution to relevant KPIs.
• Interface globally with other Senior Technical Professionals (STPs) and actively participate in the STP community.
• Bridge regional teams to ensure technical alignment and transfer of best practices.
• Co-represent regions in discipline networking activities.
• Maintain relationships with the CSC Function in CPM and other Senior Technical Professional communities.
• Communicate discipline strategies to technical leadership and support local implementation.
• Lead and organize regional training initiatives and support global training efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Direct experience managing Project Controls for major capital projects ($100M+) and/or portfolio projects ($1M - $100M).
• Owner or EPC experience.
• Experience mentoring project controls personnel and conducting accountability, lead, and peer reviews related to project controls, forecasting, accruals, and related activities.
• Experience supporting at least one project type/business line, such as Upstream, Refining, Chemicals, Pipeline, or LCS.
• Experience developing, improving, and owning Project Controls methods and tools.
• Experience developing and delivering Project Controls training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel and perform site visits for workshops and project support.
• Strong digital and data management skills, including experience with industry-standard tools and technology such as EcoSys and P6.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in both Owner and EPC environments.
• Experience leading teams of Cost, Scheduling, and/or Controls professionals.
• First-hand experience developing major capital projects ($100M+) and/or portfolio projects ($1M - $100M).
• First-hand experience managing Planning/Scheduling for major capital projects ($100M+) and/or portfolio projects ($1M - $100M).
• Experience mentoring and conducting accountability, lead, and peer reviews related to planning/scheduling and/or cost estimating.
• Experience developing, improving, and owning Cost Estimating and/or Planning/Scheduling methods and tools.
• Experience developing and delivering Cost Estimating and/or Planning/Scheduling training.
• Experience supporting a variety of project types/business lines, including Upstream, Refining, Chemicals, Pipeline, and LCS.
• Project management experience beyond Cost Estimating, including Scheduling/Planning, Project Controls, Project Development, Project Engineering, or related disciplines.
