Project Controls Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Project Controls Lead for the overall cost management of assigned data center construction projects from design through commissioning and project closeout. This role provides leadership in cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, change management, and cost reporting while partnering closely with project management, scheduling, design, procurement, construction, and finance teams to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets. This role serves as the primary owner of project cost controls and financial reporting, identifying risks and opportunities early and providing data- driven recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-lease budgets, commitments, forecasts and assignment of invoices/actuals; be aware of pre-lease status.
• Maintain forecast cash-flow (spend & commitment) alignment with dynamic schedule activities.
• Collaborate with delivery and development teams to support the timely execution of project deliverables, maintain plan documents live to project trends, support Project Leadership team with sound analysis around key project decisions.
• Support budget requests from scope owners, help ensure budget accountability, and oversee the change management process for all budgeted items (dollars, dates, quantities, controlled documents).
• Support the development, implementation, configuration and data transfer to new systems including:
• PM Web - Project Management Information System
• Oracle P6 - Enterprise environment establishment (facilitate effort with Planning Lead colleagues)
• Ensure the schedule and earned value systems are in sync in structure and progress trending
• Collaborate with the General Contractor and EPC partners to ensure sounds control practices, owner interests, and project objectives translates into and through their cost & schedule deliverables.
• Effectively translate GC & EPC details to a summarized owner level stewardship
• Actively QC all project controls data, support the development of further data governance and automated measures/checks
• Develop effective reporting metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 10-15 years of hands-on intensive cost management experience
• Experience delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
• Prior Data center scheduling experience is a plus
• Knowledge in Primavera P6 preferred
• Strong Spreadsheet (Google Sheets & MS Excel) and presentation (Google Slides & Power Point) skills
• Supervisory and mentoring experience required
• Knowledgeable with project controls and project management best practices
• Strong Influencing, Consulting, Mentoring, Analytical, and Computing skills
• Adaptability to changing priorities and working with unknowns
• Proactive communicator with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Agile and ability to multitask
• Respond quickly to urgent analysis and/or reporting requests

Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour
